It's not like he raped someone or "forgot" to pay for something. Let him play.

Whatever malzahn wants to do... but I just don't want to set a precedent where we are giving preferential treatment to certain players... Chiz did that with dyer and it created a ton of animosity on the team.

Perhaps have JJ in first play to send one PA bomb downfield to Sammy or Duke then Nick for the rest of the game. Post game let it be known that was his "suspension." How's that for maximum rustle?

What preferential treatment?

AU policy says no punishment for first offense.

I can agree with this but if Mincy doesn't get suspended I don't see why Marshall should.

SHouldn't hammer a kid because he is a special player and getting more media publicity either

I don't think the charge is a big deal but he should be punished for his stupidity. The dumbass should be punished for riding around with weed knowing it was a huge risk. Gus needs to make an example to stop this shite from happening.

I now think Gus should sit him for the first drive... then win the coin toss and give Arkansas the ball on the first drive.

There. He sat for the first drive. All two plays of it.

Let S&C crush him in front of the whole team. There are other ways to get through to him without suspension, especially with as much time as there is before the season starts.

I just hope we aren't heading down a dangerous path and will be looking at the discipline issues the team had under Chizik.

That said, if NM missed the first 1 or 2 games how might that affect his Heisman chances.

I don't really care one way or the other. I probably wouldn't suspend him, but I have no problem with gus if he does. The team should be fine either way.

That's why you have him disciplined in front of the whole team. There are other ways to get through to players without having to suspend them.

Agreed.

That sandpit is probably going to be apart of the punishment.

Honestly, I am in favor of gathering the entire team for an entire night, no matter how long it takes, and absolutely breaking him. One of those, do sand pit runs and for every "x" seconds over a set limit, the rest of the team gets punished.

One of the "Your actions affect the team, especially as a leader situation." If done right, it is a solid lesson that can improve cardio as well

As someone that has played a college sport, this is the best way. Embarrass him in front of his teammates. None of them would want to go through the same thing.

I'd sit him out the first quarter. After reading, the citation wasn't that serious. He'll be fine. Still disappointing though.
