The Landolt Astronomical Observatory is located on the LSU campus on the roof of Nicholson Hall on Tower Dr. immediately west of the LSU Student Union (across Tower Dr.). Convenient parking is located in the lot immediately south of Nicholson Hall (this lot is between Nicholson Hall and Howe-Russell Geoscience Complex). Parking in the lot is free and open after business hours and on weekends. Entry to the building should be by the door in the middle of the south side of Nicholson Hall. People will then be directed to climb the stairs up to the roof.

Well...I would wager a bet that the University Center (Student Union) at Tennessee would rank 14th out of 14. That is why they decided to do a massive renovation.
Yeah, I'd call $130 million massive...
quote:
Traffic and parking headaches — especially on game days — will be inevitable next year when the University of Tennessee tackles the largest, most extensive construction project in its history.
But when the estimated $130 million collegiate gothic-styled University Center is completed in 2016, the school hopes the imposing brick and glass building will be worth the trouble.
'I'm super excited for what it has to offer,' said Tommy Jervis, Student Government Association president. 'I'm disappointed it's not going to be done while I'm here. I just can't even imagine. The best part of it is … the green space and open seating for students outside and the patio entrance.'
The new center will sit in the same place as the 57-year-old current facility: catty-cornered from Neyland Stadium and sandwiched between the James A. Haslam II Business Building and Phillip Fulmer Way.
New University Center UT's biggest project yet

UK's student center will get a renovation and expansion. It will open in January of 2018.
quote:
The design team of Omni Architects and the Atlanta office of Perkins + Will has been awarded the expansion and renovation of the University of Kentucky Student Center.
Originally constructed in 1938 and expanded in 1963 and 1982, the Student Center is again experiencing a space crunch and no longer able to fully meet the needs of students, faculty, staff and other constituents. The Student Center, which has been celebrating its 75th anniversary, hosts nearly 2 million visitors a year. Its renovation and expansion is part of an overall plan to enhance student life across campus ? a plan that is further necessitated by an ambitious housing revitalization. Among the improvements planned for the Student Center are updated student activity and study spaces; dining and retail operations; parking; bookstore and other amenities in support of student success.

Our newish student union is good. Nothing to brag too much about. However what we didnt spend on it we put into the new student activity center. When visiting AU, I do encourage ppl to go see this place. Its beyond ridiculous.

Not trolling, asking a genuine question...I thought UTk was already heavily in the red due to construction projects. How are they paying for this one?

I actually had a thread about the LSU-Flying Tigers connection...
Remembering an LSU legend: Claire Chennault
Chennault is commemorated by a statue in the ROC capital of Taipei, as well as by monuments on the grounds of the Louisiana state capitol at Baton Rouge, and at the former Chennault Air Force Base, now the commercial Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
A vintage P-40 aircraft, nicknamed "Joy", is on display at the riverside war memorial in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, painted in the colors of the Flying Tigers.
