No matter who came in this year, we were going to be thin at CB. Hampton went Pro a year early, now he's with the Bengals and our other CB, Legree, graduated and now he's with Cardinals. So we lost 2 starters.

Then our upperclassman CB, Ronnie Martin, was having a baby and decided to go off an be a family man (good for him.)

Then Ahmad Christian who was a projected starter decided he wanted to go focus on baseball, but couldn't make SC's squad, so he bounced.

With the CB's we have:
Rico was pushing for playing time 2 years ago until he hurt his knee in fall camp, he's had 2 years to recoup it. He's got talent, but we won't know anything until he plays.

Ali Groves has been preparing to play CB here for 2 years. That's enough time to learn what Ward and Grady want him to do. he's also a former HS QB, so his field awareness is solid.

Jamari Smith was an 8A All Coast RB in FL, but he also played CB. We moved him this past spring for him to learn the plays.

Sydney Rhodes is a good Spec Teams player, we used him a lot last year as the gunner, so we'll see what he does.

We signed 4 GREAT CB's this class (Smalls is a Safety IMO)

Harris Jr is KC DB Coach Al Harris' son and received NFL training/coaching for the past 6 months with his dad in KC.
He's on campus and has been since Summer I.

DJ Smith is a solid looking CB, who may one day be a Safety, but we're looking at him for CB now. He's already on campus as well.

Also, we have 4 guys who have started at the S position and if we need to, we can move Brison to CB, which we've done for some of the practices. TJ Gurley who was a FR ALL SEC S can slide in for Brison's spot and Chaz Elder is great at the other.

We don't have anymore ?'s than anybody really. We have talent at CB, it's young, but we have options and consistency going for us. We've produced more NFL DB's than almost everybody, we just reload.
