2013 could have been the most important if Auburn would have won the title. As it is, Auburn lost on a missed field goal and a long return. Karma is a bitch.

Most important for AU was 1982, Bo over the top.
This thread is about the greatest though, according to the two part criteria stated. Which is BOTH importance of the game AND how good/entertaining/memorable the game is to the audience (which isn't just AU and bama fans).

Pretty positive we lost for more reasons than that. I don't believe the missed field goal was the sole cause. What long return are you even talking about?
