yeah this cant be overlooked. murray was more athletic which allowed for more options, but Greene with Gurley and a spread offense would have been killer.


and yes, i know greene played in a spread...but the version murray played under was much more nuanced.

Murray's receivers were infinitely more reliable than Greene's. Greene had Terrance Edwards. Fred Gibson and Reggie Brown showed flashes but the entire receiving corp I feel during Greene's tenure loved drops. Greene also dealt with RB corps in flux for half his career. And dare I say a far worse OL toward the end of his career.

Murray had better WRs, better RBs most the time, and a better OL (not that the OL should feel good about themselves)
