i think it really comes down to Greene or Murray, at least for my lifetime. never saw Zeier or Tarkenton, Blue, etc. play.
Greene had the better defense. Murray the better weapons. in the end I think I would go with Greene. both had huge heart, but Greene got the job done.

Okay I kinda felt the same way but thought we could iron that out through discussion. So I ask,"What characteristics does a QB have to possess in order to be deemed the "Greatest"?"
Or should this be part of another thread?
The three QBs who have been mentioned consistantly so far are Greene, Murray, and Stafford...with honorable mentions going to Zeier, Tarkenton, and Belue. Let's list them out and see which guys are square pegs and which one is the round one.
I'll start it off with a couple of easy ones:
He should have prevailed against ranked teams consistantly.
He should be considered an all american.
He should show he can take the game on his shoulders and bring home a win.
What say you fellas?

The most talented was Stafford, the most productive was Murray, and the best winner was Greene.
Greatest is a difficult distinction. You would also have to take Zeier and Tarkenton into account.

Pretty much my thoughts.
