Warren Nolan has our RPI at 22 as of today. There are different rpi's out there, but we have positioned ourselves very well to this point in the season by any measure. Now if we can stop turning the ball over so much we can be a damn good team.

Though lots of mistakes, they played scrapy and scored when they needed to. Solid win.

We're pretty much low 20's everywhere in RPI, the only thing that sucks is we're projected as a 8 or 9 so we would meet a #1 in game 2. We have a shot at 6-2 or 5-3 down the stretch. 20-10 going into the SECT & getting a coupla wins would be great...

Hopefully we can move up to a 6-7 or drop to a 10...

I think we can get to a 6. Need to start that by beating A&M on Thursday though.

A 6 seed is possible. I'd imagine we'd need to get to 22 wins (I'm considering the conference tourney in that total) to be a 6 or 7 seed. So if we could go 5-3 down the stretch then win a couple in Nashville we'd get that 6 or 7 seed.

What I actually predict happens is 4-4 to close out the regular season, then 1-1 in the conference tourney to end up as an 8 or 9.

We won't get as lucky next time if we end up with 20+ turnovers

Great having Thornton back though, need him to make his presence felt in College Station

Juwan Parker goes through 'light drills' at practice

The injury situation for Georgia's basketball team did improve Saturday with Marcus Thornton's return from a concussion. But two players -- Juwan Parker (Achilles) and Kenny Paul Geno (broken wrist) -- remain sidelined and have not yet been cleared to return, according to Mark Fox, who said Tuesday that Parker is ahead of Geno is terms of a return date.

"We let Juwan, he shot a few balls yesterday, and he did some light drills," Fox said Tuesday. "I don't know if 'close' is accurate. But he's closer than he was two weeks ago. Hopefully, we'll get him back. Kenny Paul Geno is still a little ways away, obviously."

Geno likely won't be back until closer to the postseason.

Meanwhile, Parker has missed Georgia's past six games.

There was good news this week on guard Charles Mann, who hit his head in the final seconds of Saturday's win over Tennessee. Mann said he was tested for a concussion and passed, leaving him cleared to play Wednesday night at Texas A&M.

"I remember diving and getting kneed in the head and hitting my chin on the ground," Mann said. "I got a couple of stitches. ... I went through the tests and I was fine. I'm able to play, and I'm just ready to try to get this victory tomorrow."

So what's the scouting report on A&M? They've been playing good ball apparently..

Their starting line-up is 4 guards and a forward. Strange but works for them apparently.

We should be able to dominate the rim though; we have been out rebounding everyone lately.

Can't say I've watched them play much, but they are doing much better than they were projected to.

Have won 7 of their last 8 and would be in the tournament as of today for sure.

Honestly I think next year we will probably look a lot like they do now. A guard heavy team that doesn't use many big men.

It should be a pretty rowdy atmosphere as their fans are probably excited about how their team has over achieved. They are 10-1 at home with the only loss being in OT against Kentucky.

5-3 the rest of the way and 1 win in conference tourny definitely gets us dancing, probably a 8/9 seed. If we can pull of 6-2 with 2 wins in SECT, we could get to that 7 seed. My thoughts on how the season plays out above. I think we split TAMU and OM though. Not sure 5-3 with 2 wins in SECT gets us above an 8.....

Seems reasonable. My only change, as of right this very minute, would be change that last @AU to a tossup as well.

And man, I would hate being an 8/9 seed. Sure it looks pretty, but holy hell those are AWFUL draws. I'd much rather be a 12.

I thought about that too, but they just look like trash (home and away). I dont see any reason we lose that game, especially with Parker likely being back by then....maaaaaybe even Geno.

I think (and post) way too much about hypothetical season scenarios and what seed we'd get, but if we did go 6-2 then won 2 in the SECT I think we could get a 6 seed. We'd be 23-10 and have lots of top 50 wins. Definitely no worse than a 7 seed in that scenario.

Tonight is a great shot at a top 50 road win. That'd be huge for our RPI.

6-2 in our final 8 games. 21-9 overall, 12-6 in the SEC. I also think we win 2 games in the SEC tournament and we end up a 6 seed. Advance past the first round in the NCAA tournament since I can't even remember win. Jaylen Brown and Kobe Eubanks are like "frick yeah, let's go to UGA!" and thus begins the UGA basketball renaissance.
