To the contrary, there's a chance we'll be better.

Perhaps. In South Carolina's most recent game, they gave up 293 rushing yards at 6.8 yards per rush to Wisconsin. That defense has lost several starters. Until the replacements prove themselves, I'd be concerned about your rushing defense since this is a league that's known for strong rushing attacks.

How good is Lorenzo Ward?
Versus the SEC
2011 (Ellis Johnson): 16.9 ppg allowed and 268 ypg
2012 (Ward): 21.1 ppg allowed and 302 ypg
2013 (Ward): 22.3 ppg allowed 346 ypg

Things could have been worse (Grantham). But is Ward as good as Gamecocks think he is?
His promotion always smelled like Willie Martinez 2.0 to me.

Wisconsin averaged 283 ypg rushing in 2013, and 6.6 ypc, so it wasn't anything unusual.

What was unusual: Wisconsin scored 35 rushing TDs in 2013, 2nd in the B10 to only OSU, and 15th nationally. The B10 had 5 teams (not counting Wisc., who was 5th) in the top 37 in rushing defenses, and 7 in the top 50. Know how many rushing TDs they scored against our weak rushing defense? That's right...not a one....

Know how important that makes all those 293 rushing yds and 6.8 ypc stats you mentioned? That's right.....
