2008
The LSU fanbase, after recently losing fan favorite and national champion Matt Flynn to graduation, is brimming with excitement over incoming freshman, and Louisiana native, Jordan Jefferson.

Tiger fans, in particular, are excited about Jordan's running ability, general athleticism, size, and his decision making abilities under pressure.

Jordan leaves Destrehan and heads up the River to Baton Rouge as a highly-touted four-star quarterback, a Louisiana class AAAAA state champion, a top 250 player, and one of the top ten players in Louisiana.

Basically, this kid is a can't miss, homegrown product that will lead the Tigahs to a national championship, right?

Uhh...wat? Do you even Ryan Perriloux? Periloux was supposed to be the starter after his magnificent performance in the SEC Championship Game against Tennessee. Instead, he got kicked off the team (the last straw was him trying to use counterfeit money at a casino), leaving LSU with a bunch of redshirt and true freshmen in Andrew Hatch, Jordan Jefferson (who was supposed to Red Shirt the year), and the General Lee. Hatch had the most experience, so he started, quickly was concussed with a career ending injury, and Lee (the next most senior) took over. Lee was garbage and Jefferson was exciting so he took over. Jefferson played progressively worse for the next couple years as Lee occasionally came in to save his butt. Jefferson gets suspended before the 2011 season, Lee comes in and plays well, Jefferson comes back and the team excels with the two of them, Jefferson sucks in the SEC Champ Game against Georgia but stays in, Jefferson lays an egg against Bama and Lee never sees the field again.

NOTHING like this year.
