My biggest peeve with Les Miles has been his management of QB's post 2007 when he actually had to make tough calls with the QB rotations.
Do you think Les struggles more with a)recruiting the right QB, b)choosing the right starter? C) developing QB's?
When did LSU first start a QB Les recruited?

I still can't believe he didn't play 12 on 1/9. That guy killed us the year before and he didn't see 1 play. Jj always played well against us too, but to not see the field was just crazy, especially the way jj performed.

LSU would have started Ryan Perrilloux in 2008 had he not been a frick up off the field, that was a Miles recruit. Miles' recruiting is fine, QB's are hard to project from high school to college and LA doesn't produce a lot of them. Jefferson was highly touted, Lee was an elite 11 quarterback.
The Jefferson/Lee saga and the Hatch/Lee thing is primarily what I'm talking about. Perrilloux put us in that spot but I feel like Miles was stubbornly wedded to Jefferson when it became painfully obvious at some point in the 2009 season that he needed to be pulled at many times. I was ecstatic when he got suspended from the team going into the 2011 season. No way LSU goes undefeated in 2011 with Jefferson running the show. I was all in for Lee starting going into the 2011 season, personally, and I think the results bore out that he deserved the spot over Jefferson, but he'd have never gotten it had it not been for JJ's off the field issues.
He also recruited Mett to LSU which was terrific. Both QB's currently on the roster were touted and so was Rettig who left due to depth issues. Now that Jefferson/Lee is gone the QB management may be great, but I saw stubbornness from Miles during that fiasco and the Hatch/Lee situation that leaves me a little concerned.
ETA: Zach Lee was another fantastic quarterback prospect Les recruited and looked great in spring training as an early enrollee but then got drafted in the first round to the LA Dodgers.

i know this might be the cop-out answer, but Les really did get fricked with the Perriloux situation. Lee was shell shocked from the get-go and Jefferson just sucked. Mettenberger turned out to be very good. These next to are TBD. Jennings has me worried after the Iowa game, but I know that was his first true game so who knows.
