With the SEC having a chance to take 2 Nattys in the Big 3 sports this year and falling short when it counted the most, which is more of a disappointment Vandy taking a 1-0 series lead and then losing 2 straight to UVA, Auburn getting beat by FSU, in a game that (according to many Alabama and Georgia fans) they wouldnt have even played in without extreme luck?

Vanderbilt playing for a national title in a "major" sport is never a disappointment.

I don't know about extreme luck. Generally you make your own luck with hard work and being in position (Which the Auburn receiver was against us)

Add to that, that every team that has won the Natty has had a certain amount of luck to get there at some point in the season. Auburn was exactly where they should have been....in the Natty. They have a very good team with some very good coaching.

Quite frankly, Johnny Manziel having to "rally the troops together" to squeak out a win against the impuissant Duke Blue Devils was a bigger disappointment than the Vanderbilt/Auburn scenario.

Auburn obviously....

Vandy students = lucky sperm club 5 years down the road corner office top floor vs AU grad still having cubical and office lounge clean up duties.

Vandy is overmatched. No shame losing to that Virginia team. Vandy has represented well

Auburn did well, too. Hell, they almost won.

True, Auburn and Kentucky were both disappointments in the NC games and Vandy plays for a NC tonight.

Honestly, anyone saying that either Auburn or Vandy are/would be the biggest disappointments of the year is just dumb. There are 13 other SEC teams in football, baseball, and basketball (why was UK left out of the OP?) who were all bigger disappointments than the team who made the NC in each sport.

Also, I'll be bumping this thread when Vandy wins tonight.
