When considering which college football team is the GOAT should we consider how many times the contenders have been on probation? I think so.

Alabama, USC and Oklahoma would all be in the discussion for the "dirtiest" college football teams of all time. How many times has each been on probation? Should each year on probation be deducted from MNC and conference titles?

I think Notre Dame may be the "cleanest" of all the GOAT contenders.

If you eliminated all the teams with more infractions, like Auburn, SMU, A&M, ASU, etc. The teams you mention have been busted numerous times but they have also been at the front of CFB for decades and with that success obviously comes increased attention from the NCAA. If anything it's more impressive that those programs have got the hammer and still succeed, where lesser programs would have folded under the pressure.

bama's probation problems didn't occur till the 90's ... we were well established as one of the 2 greatest programs ever, with or without saban's recent success ...
