HOME STATE TALENT: “A” – Louisiana is right behind Texas, Florida and Georgia in terms of producing talent. If the Tigers keep all of it home, it is one whale of a group for LSU, though Alabama has reached in and plucked one or two stars in the recent past. But overall? LSU can win games in the SEC with a majority in-state roster. RECENT SUCCESS: “A” – The Tigers were in the national championship game and won a recent SEC title and won two national titles in the last decade. They are always in the discussion when it comes to the SEC West and usually are a factor in the national picture as well. FAN EXPECTATIONS: “A” – The fans love their school and make for a crazy atmosphere on Saturdays. It is a rabid group that can only help things. COACHING STABILITY: “A” – Les Miles has been around since 2005–quite a feat in a conference where winning is so important, yet so difficult to do. Right now, recruits can put their faith in the coaching situation, and that is very important. SUM IT UP: LSU and Georgia have some similarities in terms of their home states. Lots of talent lurks around every corner, and unlike Texas and Florida–there are no in-state Longhorns and Seminoles to compete against in recruiting. The only true difference is LSU has won national titles while Georgia has only been close.
