So let me get this straight. You don't feel the need to update a thread involving a court case/legal issue?
And it's up to the posters to inform you, the person who started the thread, that new information has come to light, and that you should update?
You feel absoultely no obligation to update at all. On a messageboard that thousands of people a day come to read.
Do you see how ludicrious that is and how it can shape people's opiniions in a false manner?

Not to mention he has posted stuff and then said "link's frozen, I'll fix it later".
And then he wants to tell me that I should have started the thread. Well, I'd have been glad to. I sure as hell would have made sure I was posting facts and updating it as new information comes to light.

The OP states a fact that happened. The update was made when a link was provided. It's TD SOP not to post rumors, especially about Lsu athletes. I followed protocol. If you make a claim counter to a linked article or police report, then provide a source and it'll be posted as quickly as I can and see it.
The only likely reason this thread is this large right now, is because it's creation was not by an Lsu fan. But then again, after just looking, the same thread, with practically the same title is over 45 pages on your team's board. It's just a kill the messenger attitude, despite the fact I've taken no position and not spoken ill of the player in question. Not once.

All while LSU fans equate unpaid traffic tickets to felonies.

Not with rumors. With sourced out material, sure. I'll update as I can.

Never said that.

And post on. I reckon some will have access to more info than me, as in nearly every thread. I'm not a blogger, nor a beat writer or employee of Lsu. And this site is not affiliated with the University. It's an opinion board and the purpose of threads are for discussion. Not to be your complete information source.

What facts do you have that aren't in the OP?

I have to agree, the op should be updated just like a game thread with the latest news.
IMO hunter should face trail by clucker

to an extent, yes. but if you really wanted to post facts, then wait a day to even start the thread.

I haven't clicked your updated link, but I assume it's the correct one. but again, you started the thread, so find your own links. And if you have to work/sleep during the day, then don't start a thread about a situation that will obviously be evolving every hour. leave that to someone else.

No it's not. Every thread about a player in trouble goes for 20-30 pages. Don't flatter yourself.

It wouldn't be kill the messenger if the messenger knew how to update his messages.

Please LSU fill this out and have it on my desk by morning.

You've since updated it with the new facts. But let's not forget that just because something is in an article, does not make it fact, which we may very well find out after the dust settles.
I think you're a good poster who just did a bad job on this particular thread. it took multiple posters calling you out to finally get you to update the damn thing. If you have time to go to TD and read that thread, then you have time to find the new information.

Glad Mills is a good kid and his name will be cleared

Would he be any less arrested a day later?

So, you're arguing about nothing then.

No.

There's no box for being butthurt over your starting safety getting into legal trouble. Trolls on the SECr are a dime a dozen. I've been here a while.

But it does have information from reputable sources. Unlike rumors.

Well after you repeatedly defend yourself with updating the thread, I took your word on it. You can rest assured if it's the right article, I've read it.

Wait.. so you didn't rely on this thread for all your information and only as part of finding out the info you wanted??? Amazing.

Do you know what is considered a reputable source these days?
That same author who wrote the article could tweet at the latest update (which they do-so they can be first) and it's considered reputable. You're saying a tweet from a source is not as reputable as an article from the source?
Posted on 6/12/14 at 1:28 pm to Alahunter
It's very simple - if you're not going to update the thread properly, don't start it.
