Texas is an interesting choice. The above schools would likely vote against as well, but they would deepen the TV market penetration in the state. However, tu has a long history of running down the SEC alleging that we are all cheaters, and low quality academic schools. It is likely that Texas would never stoop so low as to join the SEC.

As for OU, they had their chance to come with us.

Aren't they stuck as a package deal with Oklahoma State?

To a certain point.

If the Big 12 crumbles and T Boone is dead, OU won't sink their program just to keep OSU relevant.

BUT

As long as any viable option to stay in the same conference as OSU is on the table they will stick together.

For now, yes. But if things really get desperate in the B12, and OU has no other place to go, they may be able to break free.
