Bramlett is a HUGE homer, but one of the best announcers in the sec. He is really good, just a massive homer. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Eli isn't that good, but he is pretty objective. More than most anyway.
Far from being mutually exclusive, all of the best team announcers were noticeably biased. For example, Munson was a massive homer - and in his prime, he was the GOAT.

The Iron Bowl series record is 42-35-1 in favor of Alabama.
As such it's pretty easy to guess what Auburn's top 35 moments in their history are.

These are Rod Bramlet's top 35 calls, not Auburn's top 35 moments. My mistake with the thread title, it was misleading.

Took awhile but I remember EVERY ONE of those. Its great to be an Auburn Tiger. Thanks for posting that.

THe biggest homer ever was Munson.

AU's pbp is the only announcing team more homerific and terrible than Eli. That's not a very good thing.
You should listen to David "Yellum" Kellum

I've worked with several of the radio crews in the SEC, so I have to give my two cents.
Rod might be the best in the league going nuts in the big moment. You'll get amped up listening to him call a tense moment, like you should. When Auburn isn't playing well, Sad Rod is not good.
Scott Howard is great at UGA, and I love these people talking about homers on the radio. It's not supposed to be an unbiased broadcast, and I think that's what makes the SEC great. Obviously it's cool when guys get excited for both teams (Gene Deckerhoff at FSU), but if you're listening to the Georgia Network, don't expect to hear them slob the knob of the team they're playing.
Kellum at OM is pretty solid as well, not flashy, but he gets the job done. Haven't listened to too much of him though.
Mick Hubert is in the same boat as RB. Big moment Mick is awesome, but he can get down in the dumps when the Gators aren't doing well.
Todd Ellis is fun to listen to, and he's got a really good relationship with his color guy. Since he's in the rare role of being a former player doing play-by-play, he gets even more invested in the game emotionally than other guys.
Tom Leach at UK is one of the more technically good guys we've got in the SEC. He's really good. Love listening to him.
Haven't listened to much of too many other guys, but if we're on the subject of being too much of a homer, it doesn't get any worse than UGA. I don't know of another crew that says "We" except maybe the Bama crew, but they don't do it as much. Again, I love announcers for your school being homers though, so that's not really a criticism.

Fyffe was Auburn football. Bramblett is not even close.

Rod is a terrible play-by-play announcer. But he is my terrible play-by-play announcer so I love him when I am not listening!

Yeah, I've never been a fan of Bramblett all that much. He's gotten a bit better the last couple seasons however.
Of course comparing him to Fyffe isn't really fair, as Jim was amazing.

Interesting that no call from AUs 2004 Sugar Bowl game were there.

First, nobody is more terrible than Eli Gold. That arsehole needs to stick to NASCAR.
Second, Georgias pbp crew is the most homerific bunch in the country. bar none. In the finest tradition of Larry Munson. Munson was the ultimate Georgia fan with a mike in his hand.
Rod Bramblett I think started as more middle of the road, but as he has grown into the job taking over from the legendary Jim Fyffe, I think he has become more of a fan in the stands. I am an Auburn grad, so I like it. I know it can be irritating to those who are not. If so, then GTFO.

I expected some more defensive plays. Like Bart Eddins slam on Randall in the 2004 LSU game. Where was Nick Fairleys sack and fumble recovery on McElroy in the 2010 IB? That play really saved the day in that game.
