Who here can tell me the best way to do/get philly cheese steak meat?

Not Steakums..... Me love steakums but wife say no.

Isn't there some "chip steak" cut or something, you freeze it and saw off pieces, or something like that?

You need a meat slicer. It doesn't have to be one of those hardcore stainless deli deals either...you can get a smaller model fairly inexpensively.

You then take either sirloin or rib eye...and slice them into thin cuts yourself. You don't need high end butcher quality for this either. Also, its easier to cut if its partially frozen. You then just cook it up in a skillet and shred with the spatula.

This is the only way I've found to do it....you can't buy meat pre sliced that isn't crap like steakum...unless you can get your meat guy at the grocery to do it for you.

I explored every alternative as making the perfect cheese steak sandwich was a quest....along with trying to recreate Waffle House hash browns...which so far has been a effort in futility BTW.

That's all I got...

A little pricey... but you'll use it more than you think
