Man Up and Admit Error -- 2013 Recap

What were some ways in which the 2013 season proved you wrong?
(1) Nick Marshall's mental toughness: I thought there was no chance he would lead AU to any sort of championship given some of his interviews and his disciplinary issues at UGA. I immediately saw them as bowl eligible again with him at the helm, but assumed he would piss away close games with poor decisions. I was wrong.
(2) UGA @ Clemson: I laughed at the prospect of Clemson beating us, even at faux Death Valley. We absolutely own Clemson historically. Injuries played a big role. But even if you'd told me before the game that we would be with a hobbled Gurley and no Malcolm Mitchell after the first series, I wouldn't have worried. I was wrong.
(3) SEC Championship Game: My prediction was USCe v. Bama. Not my worst prediction, but still deserves recognition given the dramatic way in which each team shat away their opportunity.

I didn't expect Missouri to win the East even into late November, I was confident they'd lose to Ole Miss or TAMU.

I thought there would be no way Saban would let his team collapse in another Sugar Bowl. I was wrong.

I thought LSU's D would reload.

I thought auburn would struggle to win 6
I thought Bert would take the conference by storm

I thought Ole Miss would give Bama a better game than anyone.

Thought we would've had a couple more wins, but also didn't expect Max Smith to re-injure his shoulder, Patrick Towles to get a staph infection in his arm, and Jalen Whitlow carrying the torch as starter.
I mean Western Kentucky. Come on.
Also thought Josh Clemons would've been our horse at RB until he tore his achilles tendon right before the season started.
Here's to a much healthier 2014 season.

I thought LSU would beat Ole Miss
I didn't see Mizz winning the east
I did not see Florida collapsing.

I thought our O would be well managed under Allen. I knew we wouldn't be good, but I didn't think Allen would be a factor as to just how bad we were.

1. I expected Auburn to have 8 wins at best.
2. I claimed Bama would blow out OU.
3. I overestimated Bert's ability to turn Arky around some.

I thought AU would be average.
I thought Amari Cooper would be all-World.
Did not see Mizzou remotely challenging in the East.

I thought Muschamp was gonna get fired.

I thought Tre Mason would score on the last play of the NCG (it just seemed to fit with the tone of AU's season).

I picked Bama to beat UF in the SECCG and go on to win their third straight BCS title against Lane Kifin's previously unbeaten USC.
I picked AU to finish 5-7, with losses to LSU, Ole Miss, TAMU, Arky, UT, UGa and Bama.
I paid far too much attention to the preseason predictions from the non-AU posters on tRant. Which was my most grievous error.

I said no way Auburn would win the West.

Before the year started:
-I thought the streak would continue. Since tSEC was the most dominant conference of the BCS era, it would seem fitting that tSEC would win the last BCSNCG.
-I thought UF was going to be a threat to win the east.
-I thought Bama would win their bowl game.
- I thought LSU would beat the pants off of Ole Miss.

I was casually optimistic for a bowl game going into late August/early September
Thought Tre Mason was an average running back
Figured Bama would win a third straight
Never saw Mizzou willing double-digit games

I thought Alabama would make that field goal at the end of the IB.

Lol @ all the Carolina fans that were so confident we'd lose to Ole Miss or Texas A&M...
