It's a valid question that has been asked and answered both here and on the SECRANT. The thread actually provides some of the same insight shared on our boards. This comment pretty much shares my sentiment: If they could get a coach that (who) could lock down the state's top 10 prospects every year they would most likely be the dominant team in the SEC.

While the statement is accurate, it's not realistic. I really don't think there's a coach that could lock down the state like that. You can certainly try and have years that are better than others, but the really is no one is going to be able to put borders around Georgia. There's too much talent and too many big name schools nearby with recruiters who are just as good and better.

Kids from Alabama and Louisiana grow up dreaming about going to Alabama or LSU. Kids from Ohio grow up dreaming about going to Ohio State. Kids from Georgia don't think that way growing up. We have so many kids that don't have solid roots here that it doesn't mean as much to them to play for their home state.
