Just no!!!!

i get your sentiment fully, but the fact of the matter is that it costs thousands upon thousands of dollars to do good for somebody in most states.

It does not look like i can do it in the state of TX for less than $18,500. That's the minimum, assuming that the birth mother is able to take care of her medical expenses or medicare is.

Just mind blowing to me.

And I stated that things vary from state to state. $18,500 is outrageous!!! Is this amount for adopting any kid in the "system"?

Check around to see if there are any local charities that can assist with the costs. I know there are a couple here locally, though they are needs-based and you may not qualify.

It's a damn shame adoption in this country is so cost prohibitive. Wife and I looked into it a few years ago and the price turned us off.
