...to find someone who isn't afraid to play them in 2015.

DESTIN, Fla. -- Bill Battle has tried everything.
He's called dozens of teams.
He's deployed help from ESPN and SEC. He's inquired about teams switching dates to come to Tuscaloosa.
After all that, he still has one vacancy on Alabama's 2015 schedule.
“Right now we'd take anybody,” Battle said.
Can somebody help Battle out and play Alabama? Sounds like the Tide would even take a home-and-home at this point, but Battle said he's not sure that's feasible because “everybody's scheduled for '15.”
Alabama has Wisconsin and Louisiana-Monroe on the non-conference schedule, and though Battle doesn't remember the third game offhand, Alabama is expected to play an FCS opponent in mid-November, according to a source.
That means Battle probably can't schedule another FCS for strength-of-schedule purposes, though he sounds desperate enough to do just that.
Or what about BYU, whose independence creates scheduling issues in the College Football Playoff era?
“We've called everybody we know,” Battle responded.
Battle wants to get this done quickly because the longer Alabama waits, “the more expensive it gets,” he said.

This is what's really happening. The college football world sticking it to bama any way they can.

Given your losing streak, good teams are afraid of hurting their SOS by playing a team in decline.

Sorry gumps, but this guy should be fired immediately for that comment alone. He is the MF AD and doesn't remember off hand who is on the schedule for the only important sport at the univahsity.

That's why bama can't get a game. "Bring your bunch to our place, but we won't be coming to your place so you can get paid also, sorry".

WTF? Maybe I go to FBSchedules too often but even I know that Bama has Colorado State in a weird deal that says they will either play in 2015 or 2017. How the hell would the AD not know that?

I hope he didn't say that last part b/c it would be a flat out lie. On the A&M board here I have a thread where we try to figure out future opponents by breaking down who all has an open spot remaining. There are a ton of schools that still need a game.
The dates I have listed are ones those teams have open that correspond w/potential A&M open dates. Bama has a game set up on 9/26 but there are still a ton of teams on this list that would need a game. Also, since this list was made w/A&M in mind there might actually be a few more schools not listed that need a game.

I kind of have a hard time believing that he could have called Penn State, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse with teh offer of a home and home only to be rejected.
This sounds more like he is trying to create cover for when they schedule a low end MAC team.

Crossing my fingers that this results in another BCS/power 5 opponent on schedule.
Anytime Bama has difficulty lining up high school teams to pass off as a legit game in BDS is good in my book.
