I think it depends on the hire honestly. Could there be some regression? of course! new system/staff etc..

I mean we could stay where we are at now.. contending for the east, trying to win the SEC/make the playoffs etc...
but I think we want to move ahead of all that instead of being content with it and just throwing out what we've done in the past, so I don't think we will hire Richt.

Richt accomplished more in his first 5 years as a head coach than SC has accomplished in its entire history.
