We do have a lot of rivers to float. Most of them are gigantic floating parties on the weekends...which was fun when I was younger. Any recommendations for a more peaceful weekend float, possibly with some fishing and gravel bar camping to be had?

Honestly...the Missouri River between Glasgow and Jefferson City is an incredibly beautiful float. Plenty of amazing sandbars to camp on. Very scenic. I highly recommend!

If you're too afraid to float the Missouri River (and you shouldn't be), then I recommend the Big Sugar or sections of the Jacks Fork, especially the latter.

Does that section get much barge traffic? I was always told that I will either get chased down and run over by a barge or sucked under by a whirlpool on that river, so I've never messed around with it too much. I'd love to float the Missouri though. Sounds pretty awesome.

I think the Mighty Mo is a great river, me and the brothers got a big river john with a 50 hp merc, we get the shiners, chubs, rest of the fishing shite, don't forget cigars and beer and you got a damn good day there!
