I'd say something like 2600 yards with 23 TDs and maybe like 7 or 8 INTs is at best above average in today's game. And to clarify, those are numbers in the ball park of what I'm expecting. Completely irrelevant compared to the win column, but he'll be judged by the stats more.

They are assuming we are hyping him up but no one really has been. Fact is, we don't need him to throw for 350 yards and 4 tds to win. We just need him to complete a few and not throw interceptions. That's it.

Is be thrilled with those numbers. And you can't really compare his stats to "the norm" when speaking about expectations or effectiveness. We're one of the few balanced offenses left. Of he does what's asked of him then we'll make the playoffs. I'm very excited about this season. I think we have as good of a chance as anyone at bringing home the crystal. Do we have question marks? Sure, but everyone else does too. The key is we have more talent across the board than everyone else.

The 2 quarterbacks in the NC game last year were first year starters. The last two Heisman winners were first year starting quarterbacks. People love to say Coker hasn't proven anything and point to that as the reason we'll lose 3 or 4 games, but in reality, especially lately, that reason has proven more false than true. McCarron, Manziel, Newton, Marshall, Winston all brought home some sort of hardware in their first year under center at the D-1 level. It's a flawed argument.

I understand we can't point to that as the reason he'll be successful, but in the same light no one else can point to his inexperience as a reason he'll struggle.
