You've probably heard already but Notre Dame has been outspoken about scheduling an SEC opponent in the near future ... MSU AD Scott Stricklin attempted to contact South Bend today to get the ball rolling on a home and home... I feel like this deal won't happen cause the Irish are scared shitless of tGrind.

I'm almost certain, and this isn't a troll, that State has actually contacted them and Notre Dame said no.

I could be thinking of another team and another situation but I could have sworn I heard something like that.

If ND plays an SEC team they need to play a Big 6 team.

If the MSU AD gets past the secretary in that phone screening process, the secretary should be fired. Grinders vs ND? Jaysus.

Yeah great, so Notre Dame is going to begin scheduling MSU and Kentucky and bragging about all the wins over SEC schools they have.

I've heard for several years that USC has tried to schedule with Notre Dame, but they're not interested.

When Notre Dame says they want to play an SEC opponent, they really mean they want to play UT again.

Traditional big name program without a traditionally successful team.

If they scheduled someone without the pedigree of the Big 6 and lost, it'd be an embarrassment. If they scheduled a team that was actually in the top 6 of the conference, they'd receive an arse whopping that'd be equally embarrassing.

Therefore this whole charade about wanting to play an SEC opponent is really just Notre Dame trying to schedule another series with UT. Only team that fits their criteria right now

When ND said they wanted to schedule an SEC team, they pretty much meant UGA. They want exposure in the GA recruiting base.

Personally I hope we finalize a deal with them and then kick their teeth in in Athens.

My thought is, they want to play a big six team, so if they lose its not big deal but if they were to play state and lose, everyone would laugh...because its well Miss State.

State could have beaten the ND team that played in the national title game in 2013.

MSU isn't a big enough opponent.

If ND plays an SEC team it will be Bama or LSU...whether they got slaughtered or not...it's $$$ and national TV audience on Prime Time.
