never thought about it that way. As it stands right now after watching LSU destroy them in the 2006 Sugar Bowl and Bama crush them in the BCSNC, they can not compete with the upper tier SEC.

There is no reason why they wouldn't be successful once they recruited southern athletes. They have money, prestige, and a huge fanbase. The only difference between the SEC and the rest of the nation and the only reason we are so dominate is our recruiting. Give a premier blue blood program, like ND, access to the same players as UA, LSU, etc. they would be great to elite every year.
