This could be Dan's year. Wouldn't surprise me at all if muffin wins the west this year with Dak Football. But if not this year, soon. Dan is building State into a championship contender with solid recruiting

A&M meanwhile just lost their version of Dak Football. So the immediate future doesn't look too bright. A&M fans will need to be patient while Sumlin builds the program with solid recruiting.

Verdict
Dan has been building a solid program longer than Sumlin, so Dan wins the west before Sumlin.

Sumlin can never win a conference title ever according to tRant.

Bigger question is: Who wins one first, Bert or Dan?

Neither. Mullen won't ever win enough SEC games to win it and Sumlin will be gone to the NFL before he can build a team to beat out Alabama, Auburn, and LSU all in the same year.

Sumlin's QBs will have good numbers and MSU will get better, but neither are winning the West any time soon.

Neither will ever win the West. Sumlin may be the most overpaid coach in college football history.
