Yes, but much of the reason he had to do that is because JFF would basically "quit" a play if his first or second read was covered. If we have a more traditional QB that can go through all his progressions and accurately pass to the fourth WR or to the RB as a safety value then we can lose the QB scrambling and still have an effective offense.

I am not sure that KA or any QB can consistently depend on going through the progression to the third or fourth receivers. The speed of many SEC defenses will not allow progression reads to that extent.

JFF had an uncanny ability to know when it was time to abandon ship and use his legs. KA will have to make the adjustment to the speed of the SEC. There are so many things happening with the SEC defenses, all at the same time, that there will be a learning curve for any freshman QB.

Reading defenses in high school is quite different from reading SEC defenses. However, this is a year that aTm will not be alone with inexperience at the QB position. You join LSU, SC, Alabama, Georgia and a few that wish they would start a freshman QB.

If our offense is running correctly we dictate speed TO the defense.

The whole point of the HUNH is to get 3rds and 4ths open by taking away complex defensive plans.

There were many times a third was open and he took off. Good thing he has great instincts once scrambling to make up for it.
