Because EVERYTHING these days takes a lot of money. I think the hill reno, was only around a million though, not 10 iirc from a flyer the U sent out. After all it's mostly dirt, concrete and sod, the idea was to make it more comfortable to sit on, as well as look better.

I was under the impression they basically prepared the hill for stands if it ever becomes necessary, so it wasn't just moving the dirt and rocks, it was stabilizing the whole thing to take on some decent weight in the future.

That may all by message board BS, though.

Ohhh, interesting. Yeah, until now I didn't know why they moved the hill in. Thanks.

And I believe you're wrong about it only costing 1 million to move the hill, but I have nothing but hearsay to support my claim.

Anyway, it seems like some things could be added to the ballpark to make it more respectable without going overboard financially.

With the amount of money spent on other things, it seems like such a small investment to turn the baseball program into something notable.
