come back to me in 5 years, when this is exactly what college football will look like.
Just because , you don't like the idea, does not mean, we are not headed that way.
You have your head in the sand if you don't believe it.
there are 125 fbs schools.
if you go to 6- 16 team leagues. you are at 96. + ND, BYU, ARMY GETS YOU TO 99
that will allow for 6 AQ & 2 at large for a 8-team playoff..

That could be accomplished without 16 team conferences.

Impossible. College football is locked in place for a while, with every major conference except the SEC locked in a GOR and all major conferences having new-ish media deals.
Maybe within 20 years we will see big changes...
