Of course that was back when small towns had organized leagues with multi teams and mainly the only traveling you did was for a few tourneys not every weekend like these days. Very good times.
Yeah, my friends kids are old enough to play now, they are on a league team here in town and a traveling team as well.
Back when I played it was the "all-star" team got to travel, best selected after the league play ended in time for the tournaments around the state.
Then you were on a traveling team when you got to Legion ball, then HS until summer, then Legion, eventually College.

I got to be a little but quiet here since I don't want to get my arse kicked in the middle of a Fayetteville bar, but frick you and frick the Waltons for bribing the Umps.
