Auburn might actually be in play here.

lets see how UGA fans spin this one. IMO this is a big blow, he was probably their best DB last year, even though thats not saying much.

He was in and out of the doghouse constantly and getting buried in the depth chart. Not really surprising

For real guys, I think Mark has really lost it this time

Big deal he was getting processed, things have changed all around in Athens and if you look at the recruits coming in by and large you will see a different type person than we had three or four years ago.
Auburn well they are reformers like a super sized Jacksonville State and do well with the first time offenders.

Shaq Wiggins:
1: Was a true freshman last year. He did not win a starting position to start the season. It wasn't until Langley (another true freshman) was benched after 3 or 5 games that Wiggins came in.
2: Made a big splashy play for a pick 6 vs Vandy, but other than that, has a highlight reel of what we Dawg Fans call "Why we fired Grantham" of which there are two sides. One side is "Grantham's scheme was too complicated for the secondary" and the other side is basically just me, saying "Scheme was fine, players sucked." In these arguments on the DawgRant, almost all of the film offered as evidence on either side, is of Wiggins fricking up.
3: Was arrested for driving on a suspended license a few months ago, off season. TPOS etc.
4: Shows some great raw talent, and had/has a lot of potential. I was looking forward to seeing what Pruitt could do with him. But alas, I'll never know.
Georgia's secondary is neither better off nor worse off with Wiggins' departure.
Another true freshman last year, JJ Green, was recruited as a CB, but because of his toughness and athleticism was moved to 4th string running back because of a lack of depth there, and sure enough, both Gurley and Marshall got hurt and JJ Green was picking up the slack with near 5 ypc.
Now that the RB depth has been taken care of, JJ Green was moved back to defensive secondary, and is apparently kicking arse and taking names.
But let's not stop at JJ Green.
The "Walk On" that was mentioned in this thread, is Aaron Davis. He was a top recruit with lots of uncommitable offers from all the usual suspects, but got hurt in his soph year of high school. He never played another down of football in high school, had 1 scholly offer from a div II, but chose to walk-on at UGA.
At the Spring Game, he blew everyone away, included myself, asking "who the hell is this guy and why wasn't he playing last year?".
He's very promising to be a starter next year.
Another guy moved to the secondary is Tramel Terry. He was recruited as Wide Receiver. He was SC Mr Football, like Clowney and AJ Green before him. He also tore his ACL in high school and redshirted last year, and has been moved to a DB, much like Malcome Mitchell was for a year, before being moved back to receiver.
UGA's secondary will be just fine without Wiggins.

Honestly, UGA's secondary is such an unknown quantity, that it's hard to say what losing wiggins will even mean.
Obviously, it doesn't help, but they were pretty screwed already anyways.
Lucky for UGA, their front 7 should be pretty sick.
