Kentucky just ranked 48th on some list of cycle friendly states. I'm not trying to get killed.

Just go in the park system you were talking about; take some scenic loops a few times

And I'm not trying to get you killed . I don't know, but my guess is those rankings are based on miles of bicycle lanes. We don't have 1 foot of bicycle lane here but we DO have the Vicksburg Military Park, which is outstanding for bike riding. I've no idea where you are in Kentucky but I'd look for a large park.

I only brought it up because you mentioned knees. Bike riding is much easier on knees than running (duh) or even walking.
