Spurrier was born in Miami Beach....just so you folks know the facts.

UT was horrible back then and did run a 1950s offense...UF had hired Pepper Rodgers as OC which can be compared to having Malzahn as OC in early to mid 1960s....and Spurrier loved Blue and Orange, so theres that.

That's pretty much what I've heard him say ... except the last part about the colors.

He's still very close to Pepper Rodgers, who also gave him his first coaching job at Ga Tech if I am not mistaken?

Rodgers comes to at least one Carolina game a year and usually sits in Spurrier's private box.

This event right here shaped the SEC forever. Had he played at UT, does he stay at Duke until Majors was done or end up elsewhere in the conference? Would Florida still be a sleeping giant as opposed to the program they are now?
