Hello fellow rantards, I am considering purchasing a hammock for my back yard. I have a couple of large and well-spaced trees upon which to secure this proposed hammock.
Any recommendations on hammocks? GFing myself isn't a recommendation, BTdubs.
I want a large one, capable of two people. Any preferences on whether to get one of those cord/string hammocks vs solid fabric ones? Any good brands? Any shitty brands to avoid?
TIA.

From what I understand..Cuban hammocks are like Cuban cigars..good luck
eta: For real though, Venezuelan hammocks are supposed to be top notch, but I realize that's not very informative or helpful..

The cord ones are less comfortable, IMO

Steer clear of the banana variety. They're uncomfortable for everyone involved.

Get an Eno double. easy to put up and take down. ENO website

The DoubleNest reigns supreme. It's our bread-and-butter. It's your all-access pass to relaxation. Big enough for two and palatial for one, the DoubleNest still manages to stuff easily into its attached compression sack. Take it anywhere, set it up in seconds flat, lay back and…Oh, did you want to join me? I've got room for one more…

I have a Pawley's Island hammock and I love it. It has a somewhat portable stand rather than hanging it between two trees. I keep it in the garage in the winter, and the backyard the rest of the year. I've never had the cord/string variety so can't comment. Mine is a padded canvas type material.

There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third. There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There. That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
