In other words, who could the SEC least afford to lose in the modern world of college athletics? Who brings the most to the table, factoring in fan base, tv market, prestige, competitiveness, etc.?
My ranking:
1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. Alabama
4. Texas A&M
5. Tennessee
6. LSU
7. Kentucky
8. Auburn
9. Missouri
10. South Carolina
11. Arkansas
12. Vandy
13. Ole Miss
14. Mississippi St

Florida and Georgia are the most well-rounded.
Vanderbilt for academics.
Alabama for football.
Kentucky for men's basketball.

Except it's not a flame thread. TV markets drive modern college athletics. Even more than wins.

No way. Do you have any idea how much value aTm and Mizzou bring to the SEC Network? Especially aTm.

Where would you rank Ole Miss? How badly would the SEC hurt if another conference stole Ole Miss from us?

Tough to rank them with so many factors, but a very interesting idea.

Sorry Auburn is not where you wish to think they are. AU leaving the SEC would barely put a dent in SEC revenue or our sustainability as a conference. AU brings no market not already covered by Alabama or UGA. Very competitive athletically but lacking in tv market and national appeal.
