Okay, I went over literally every possible scenario, and, believe me, this is the only way to keep all SEC football a) in-state rivalries, b) season finales, and c) “named” mid-season rivalry games in tact without having to keep the current permanent cross-divisional opponent system (special note: I realize that Louisianans have some cultural thing about giving nicknames to everything--in this case, the "Hatch Cup," "Saban Bowl," and "Tiger Bowl"--but since the schools themselves don’t “officially” call those games by those nicknames, I didn’t count those as “named” mid-season rivalry games under this scenario):

NEW SEC EAST
Alabama (keeps Iron Bowl & Third Saturday in October)
Auburn (keeps Deep South’s Oldest Rivary & Iron Bowl)
Florida (keeps World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party)
Georgia (keeps Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry & World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party)
Kentucky (keeps Battle for the Wooden Beer Barrel)
Tennessee (keeps Battle for the Wooden Beer Barrel & Third Saturday in October & Battle for Tennessee)
Vanderbilt (keeps Battle for Tennessee)

South Carolina *

NEW SEC WEST
Arkansas (keeps Battle for the Golden Boot & Southwest Classic & unnamed Arkansas-Missouri season finale)
LSU (keeps Battle for the Golden Boot & Magnolia Bowl & unnamed LSU-Texas A&M season finale)
Mississippi (keeps Egg Bowl & Magnolia Bowl)
Mississippi State (keeps Egg Bowl)
Missouri (keeps unnamed Arkansas-Missouri season finale)
Texas A&M (keeps Southwest Classic & unnamed LSU-Texas A&M season finale)

* - does not have an in-state rival, season finale, or "named" mid-season rivalry game against any SEC school

I love how every "best solution yet" for realignment ends up with one very strong division and one very weak division.

LSU fans might love this, but 5 of the Big 6 in one division isn't going to happen.

Only if they start to rotate the SECCG host city, I will grow tired of going to Atlanta every year.

Get this man a beer. LSU would win the west for the next 20 years straight.

SEC West
----------
Texas A&M
Arkansas
LSU
Missouri

SEC South
------------
Alabama
Auburn
Mississippi State
Ole Miss

SEC Central
-------------
Tennessee
Georgia
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

SEC East
------------
Florida
South Carolina
Clemson
Florida State

8 Game Schedule. 3 games vs. Divisional Teams. 2 games vs. Cross Divisional Permanents and 3 games against rotating teams from each of the other three divisions.

Alabama would play Auburn, MSU and Ole Miss every year in their division. Tennessee and let's say South Carolina every year. They would rotate one West, Central and East team every year.

Would have to petition the NCAA to create a four team playoff between divisional champions. Seeded, of course. Get three other conference affiliations to the 16 team thing and you essentially create a national 16 team playoff.

Seems pretty fricking simple to me..

West:
A&M (South Carolina/Florida/Georgia)
LSU (South Carolina/Florida/Georgia)
Alabama (Auburn)
Ole Miss (Vandy)
Miss St (UK)
Arkansas (Mizzou)
Tennessee (South Carolina/Florida/Georgia)

East:
Florida
Georgia
Auburn
South Carolina
Mizzou
Vandy
UK

Keeps Iron bowl and TSIO available. Auburn gets to match up with Florida again. A&M vs South Carolina is a good little mixup, they get to face LSU every season too. Alabama/LSU game of the centuries still happen. Bottom dwellers face off against bottom dwellers.

Mizzou can join the west when we add two more teams.
