Ian Chiles and Tariq Owens — are expected to be on campus at some point this week. Chiles is a fifth-year transfer from IUPUI and a solid, versatile guard, while Owens is a big man from Maryland who initially signed with Ohio but then had a late growth spurt, went from 6-7 to nearly 6-10 and suddenly became a much, much more intriguing prospect. The Vols have a very good chance to land Owens, according to a couple of college basketball sources.

Tennessee also is in play for Florida Gulf Coast transfer Eric McKnight — a 6-9 forward with one season of eligibility remaining — and a couple of other Division I transfers, including some who we believe haven’t been mentioned anywhere in the media. Tyndall is a grinder on the recruiting trail and has plenty of connections, and we think the Vols are going to continue to emerge on the lists of several transfers.
