I watched plenty of football last year. Sorry if I didn't memorize the name of your 647 yard rusher with nearly 1/4th of his production from one game against a Pac 12 team.

Your memory just must be terrible. If I watch a game of any team, I'll at least have an idea who a player is if he plays.

As for "featured back," I mean someone with a workload equivalent of Mason, who didn't even come close to averaging 9 ypc

Well no shite. Mason was used much more up the middle.

Are you seriously suggesting that Grant is good enough to shoulder the bulk of Auburn's rushing game and have a ypc average that would easily place him amongst the greatest running backs of all time?

No. Where did I indicate otherwise? Grant is used in a role that magnifies his speed. the plays he gets called for will be big chunk plays. He won't get that many runs up the middle, because we have a bigger back that is just as good, to do that.

Statistically, Grant will probably end close to 10 ypc, as he did last year. Even with an increased role.

Well, good for you. I'm so proud you can remember all 22 starters, plus special teams, plus subs, plus garbage time 2nd and 3rd stringers, if applicable. Seriously, I'm beaming with pride that I get to talk to an idiot savant of football player memorization. Now, without looking it up, give me the rundown of every single SEC-W team. I won't even ask for subs, just all their starters. I assume you watched all of Auburn's games against conference competition, right?

I never said you did. I brought it up on the entirely reasonable assumption that we have no idea how an unproven freshman RB will perform. But someone is likely to replace Mason unless Gus retools his two-back set, and until we see what Roc can do, it seems probable that it'll be one of your current backs. If that's not Grant, then who? This is an actual question, just like last time, not an attempt to make you feel snippy and defensive.
