However, a similar idea was raised by the vilified Clay Travis. His points were basically that it would be better practice because hitting teammates is way different than hitting another team. It would let teams get a more realistic opposition. For instance, in Auburn's spring game, you know the defensive players know the offenses signals on some level. Even if you aren't trying to steal them, you're going to react different if you hear the signal and have some idea what it means. I like the idea of playing teams like Chattanooga for a spring game instead of in the real season. Small teams could also try to coincide them with spring breaks to travel to nice locations for their players.
