The flaw here is that you are assuming that he'd have still been able to amass the talent that Miles has. I'm not saying that he isn't a great recruiter, but that's easily one of Miles' biggest strengths (saban's, too), and we don't know how Spurrier would have done. At the time of our coaching change, Steve was still a widely-hated man in Louisiana.
