I think Shaw is an excellent coach, but perhaps it is too soon to put him in that elite company. He's only been HC 3 years, right?

Despite Stanford being an amazing academic school, it's not as though they disregard athletics thus making winning at Stanford shocking. The Stanford brass strongly support athletics.

Plus, it was Harbaugh who brought Stanford out of their football decline. Shaw may be an elite coach, but too soon to definitively say he is with the best of the best.

Just my two cents on a subjective scale.
