Why not play a 9 game conference schedule?

Why not get rid of the permanent rent a wins some teams have from the other division so there isn't a need for a 9 game schedule?

Would it really hurt Bama's record to play Kentucky instead of Tennessee?

Would UGA really be harmed by playing Ms. State instead of Auburn?

So I don't have to see Bama get a UT/UK/Vandy rotation the year we move to it.

Because this league is run by a bunch of cowards that think playing 3 cupcakes a year isn't a total embarrassment.

Looks at the furor that's already being caused by the permanent cross-divisional rival: some schools are locked into playing long-time also-rans, while others are locked into playing long-time powers in the SEC.

Now imagine a 9-game format: some schools play 4 home games and 5 away games, while others play 5 home games and 4 away games. It'll create arguments every year as to which SEC teams got easy breaks while others got unfair burdens in competing for divisional titles and bids for the SECCG....

The other arguments are for SEC schools that have established cross-conference rivalries. But that was the case back prior to the 12-game regular seasons: once everyone got the extra 12th game, they typically filled that slot with a cupcake home game. It gave everyone 7 home games each years...

A 9th SEC game will take away that 7th home game every year, although it WILL keep it every OTHER year. I still think a home conference game every 2 years versus the typical home game every yr vs a FCS patsy or SunBelt/Conf. USA patsy (almost same thing) won't be that much of a difference...
