And the only reason we were in the Fiesta Bowl was because of the controversy concerning the state of Arizona in late-90/early-91. Arizona had just voted to not recognize Martin Luther King Day as a holiday. Quite a few teams refused Fiesta Bowl invitations. Ironically (or not), two teams from the Southeastern United States were the ones who ended up playing in the game.

Louisville ended up knocking Alabama's dick in the dirt too.

I'd imagine Alabama didn't really care because they had just managed to end Auburn's winning streak against them a few weeks earlier.
