I don't think playing at UCLA or North Carolina would put you at a competitive disadvantage. Would be great for recruiting although Florida is stacked you don't have to look too far.

Also, when was the last time you played an out of state non conference opponent in the regular season?

Unnecessary, they have plenty enough recruiting ammo without going to california for a meaningless game.

Damon Evans wanted to "increase the national brand" of UGA by playing away games at Arizona State, Oklahoma State, and Colorado. Our recruiting didn't really improve because of it, the games didn't help at all, and it royally fricked up our travel/body clocks.

UF does it right, IMO. Play the SEC, play your big OOC game (FSU), and the rest cupcakes. After all wins and losses are all that count, so why not add more wins?

It is an additional opportunity for a loss that other schools aren't taking. I think the schedule gets a little stale, I'm just not sure there is much we can do about it for now.

That...Big OOC away games are good for recruiting line, is just WAAAAAY overplayed. I've NEVER heard a recruit say " I signed with the tigers because they played a game in my neighborhood"...I think potential recruits are much more impressed/influenced, by attending a big home game of the university they are interested in !
