I can see 8-4, not that tough of a schedule. They can easily start 6-0 or 5-1.

They will definitely take a step back on offense but the defense has nowhere to go but up. I think it evens out and they end up with a similar year as 2013.

If I were an Aggie I would be circling 2015 but still the West is just so brutal they could be much improved then and still be 3rd in the division.

Agreed, DS.
2015 &/or 2016.
And that's what I've seen most other Ags express as well.
Still too many hiccups in 2014.

I agree you guys should be circling 2015, but I think Alabama and LSU fans are also circling that year. Should be a monster year in 2015.

Can an A&M fan tell me about your defensive recruiting? How is your defense shaping up for 2014-2016?

Kinda like how every aggy predicted a national championship if only your defense could be top 50.

If our defense had been top 50, we probably would have. We were absolutely right.

I think the loss of Evans will factor in for the Ags. And even though Sumlin's offense is very very good every year, I think it will be slightly less prolific this year. Manziel's legs extended SO many plays the past two years, and I don't think either of your new QBs will be able to avoid the pressure like he did.

Manziel, for all his greatness, didn't actually play within the offense much of the time.

Go watch Case Keenum at UH, when a QB operates within the system he doesn't really need to run. Many of Manziels runs last year will be quick timing completions with a pure passer. The one knock on Manziel is that he always went for the big play, it's why he struggled against LSU. LSU tried to make him work for everything slowly and he couldn't.

This is hard for me to imagine, being QBU and all. Must be difficult for you programs that don't always have ridiculous talent at this position

Honestly I think the offense will be top 3 in the league next year. Clarence Mckinney was really a terrible OC. Most of the play calls were let Johnny drop back and make a play. Kinda odd for the RB coach/OC to abandon the run game at times, but then again you have the Heisman trophy winner at QB. The offense will be more balanced, as we have 4 legit running backs who can take the pressure off of our young QB. Once again the O-line will be solid, and dare say it well have 3 straight years of a 1st round LT. Our receivers are talented as well. RSJ and Cam Clear at TE will be matchup problems. And we have legit slot weapons like Gonzales, Speedy, Kennedy etc.

A&M's success moving forward will depend on the defensive side on the ball. And were building depth in that area. As said with a defense starting a bunch of freshman last season, the only direction you can go is up. I believe Myles Garret will make an impact as a freshman. I think 8-4 would be a fair prediction.

I agree with this statement.

And although I understand why Bielema is such a popular punching bag these days, I believe that we will be a real force in the SECw by 2015/16.

I am optimistic about our new defensive staff, and I'd like to think that our power offense is going to be pretty brutal once all of the pieces are in place.

And Freeze and Merlins are going to field salty teams as well.

I honestly don't see how any team runs the table in the SECw in the foreseeable future.

This was my biggest issue with Pinkel for a long time. Yes our passing game has been way better than the run for a long time, but our offense was highly predictable.

Hope you guys find a defense and a QB. Expecting the ATM/Mizzou game to be good again this year.

IMO, Mauk was much, much better than Franklin last year. I think he could be the best QB in the league this year.
