I'd say Cards fans root for the Royals in the AL, especially if they're doing something. Like you cheer for your kid brother in little league. I'd guess the Royals fans would rather drink bleach than watch our annual playoff chase.

This is an example of what I'm talking about that goes on in the Shack at Tigerboard. Little league, really? Annual playoff chase? When I grew up in St. Louis, we went to the World Series in '64, '67 and '68. Before that we hadn't appeared since '46, 18 years. After that we didn't reappear until '82. 14 years. It can happen to any franchise, even one as great as the Cardinals. There's no reason to start caca and talk down to anybody.

At the very beginning Stan Musial played in the World Series. After that, the best part of his career, nothing. My personal hero, Bob Gibson, played in the Worlds Series went the first 5 years of his career and the last 7 years with no World Series. Those guys can attest to how fleeting World Series success can be, no matter how great the player.

Most cards fans are okay to deal with. There are some that are very much like jayhawk and cornhusker fans though.

Those "types" are pretty f'ing annoying.

Edit: I was in Lawrence, ks this past Tuesday and saw a guy wearing a kU hoodie and a cards hat. I looked at my fiancee and said "I have zero idea who that guy is, but I promise you he is a giant douche."

I'm just yanking the Royal's fans chains. MLB will have to figure out a way to revenue share a little better in order to keep markets interested like the NFL has done.
