The chicken. What evolved into what we now know as a chicken was first hatched from a very, very slightly different species. The egg was technically from a different species, so the chicken was first

If the species were different, even ever so slightly, that means it wasn't a chicken egg.

The egg was a chicken egg though because a chicken came out of it.
