The University of Arkansas had the opportunity to hire Gus Malzahn for the position of head football coach. Rather than hire this individual, the university instead chose Bret Bielema. Gus Malzahn was hired instead by another university, and has since been very successful. Bret Bielema has not recorded a conference win. Some would view this as a bad decision by the Arkansas administration. On the opening weekend of the 2014 college football season, the University of Arkansas is scheduled to play Malzahn's current team and is not favored in the match up. Simultaneously, a former coach of the University of Arkansas will be making his re-debut at the University of Louisville.
