Pearl gets it. He understands scheduling very well. He understands how to build a program. It needs to be all in time for the fanbase. Its now or never. War eagle.

I agree. I think he will own many school records.
Will we have analysts and off field staff like in football? Will we spend as much as Florida or Duke for the program?

quote:1. There are 6 or 7 assistants allowed in basketball, 3 full time assistants that also recruit and 3 or 4 other that do other functions like S & C, video guy, director of ops. etc. 2. No clue on what UF and Duke spend nor how much AU will spend.

MURFREESBORO — MTSU and Auburn basketball have agreed in principle on a three-game series, including coach Bruce Pearl bringing his team to Bridgestone Arena in the 2015-16 season.
The agreement includes: one game at Auburn this season (tentatively scheduled for Dec. 29, 2014); one game at Bridgestone Arena in the 2015-16 season (likely in December 2015); and one game at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center in the 2016-17 season.
The 2-for-1 series was first mentioned publicly by Pearl on Wednesday, as reported by al.com. Blue Raiders coach Kermit Davis confirmed on Thursday that he and Pearl had agreed on the basic parameters of the series. Some details are still being finalized before the two sides sign the contract.
Davis said Pearl has been among the few coaches to agree to play the Blue Raiders in at least a designated home game.
“Bruce and I had talked several times about it,” Davis said. “You know we are just working every day on trying to get BCS schools in a home-and-home situation, but there is just nobody with any interest in coming to Murfreesboro right now. We are trying like heck. But what we are trying to do next is getting as many opportunities as we can to play SEC-type schools on neutral floors.”
MTSU just finished a successful three-game series with Ole Miss. The Blue Raiders beat the Rebels in two of three meetings — winning a neutral site game in Southhaven, Mississippi, and another game at Murphy Center before losing in Oxford last season.
The Blue Raiders went 24-9 last season. They have amassed a 79-22 record over the past three seasons. Auburn was 14-16 last season under then-coach Tony Barbee. Pearl, the former Tennessee coach, was hired by Auburn in March.
Pearl was the keynote speaker at MTSU’s Tipoff Celebration last October.
“We have a three-year RPI average of 49, and playing teams like us is what the SEC is trying to do,” Davis said. “But we have tried to do more of this — like the Ole Miss series — trying to get some home-and-homes. We will continue to work to try to get others like this one with Auburn.
“... But we have gotten a lot better, and you see the same (scheduling) challenge at other places. Look at Michael White at Louisiana Tech; he’s still got five more games to get. (New Tennessee coach) Donnie Tyndall last year at Southern Miss had to go on the road a lot. So the better your team gets, the more difficult it becomes to schedule.”
Davis said the game at Bridgestone Arena in the 2015-16 season is currently planned as a single non-conference game, rather than part of a multi-team classic like MTSU has played there in past years, but the possibility of a larger event could at least be explored.
MTSU’s last game at Bridgestone Arena was a 56-52 win over Vanderbilt on Dec. 21, 2012.
MTSU will get a sneak peek at the site of the third game with Auburn. The 2015 Conference USA men’s basketball tournament will be played at Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center, as announced earlier this week.

This is Auburn Basketball w/ Bruce Pearl Part 4. Focuses on academics and summer camps. Only interesting note that I came away with is he said we have 8 returning scholarship players so the spots for the 5 new players are open. We just don't know which player is already gone.

Delph is another candidate. He has been very unimpressive in practice per JGT.

I had to edit the part about Atewe out. He was at practice yesterday according to someone who was there.

It is still so surreal that we hired Bruce freaking Pearl.

This is fantastic. Anyone anywhere anytime is how you build a program, just ask bobby bowden. Attendance will be better in bham and nashville over winter break. It's a win-win. I am so pumped for bball and it has been so long
